Новий граптоліт з Польщі

Повідомляють про Papiliograptus retimarginatus sp. nov. з біозони рraedeubeli-deubeli, з відкладів верхнього гомеріану (керн з колонки в Бартошице IG-1, Польща, Балтика). Це другий вид роду Papiliograptus Lenz & Kozłowska-Dawidziuk, 2002, який належить до нової граптолітової фауни періоду відновлення після лундгренського вимирання. Двома характерними рисами нової граптолітової фауни є розвиток генікулума та одиничних або парних генікулярних структур. Нова форма має надзвичайно широкі, поодинокі, сітчасті колінчасті відростки. Припускають, що ці структури могли бути пристосуванням для запобігання затоплення планктонної колонії в малорухливих водах.
