Новий етозавр з Польщі

В 1932 році в районі Кокури в Польщі були вперше знайдені викопні рештки етозавра Velocipes guerichi von Huene, але про знахідку швидко забули. Однак, нещодавні повторні дослідження привели до відкриття нових скам’янілостей хребетних тварин пізнього тріасу, включаючи дводишних риб, черепах і нового етозавра – Kocurypelta silvestris. Новий вид демонструє незвичайну анатомію черепа, але досить типову шкірну броню. Це вказує на необхідність перегляду таксономії етозаврів, яка значною мірою базується виключно на характеристиках шкірної броні.
