Wilhelm Friedberg's Collections in Lviv

Wilhelm Friedberg (1873–1941) was a Polish naturalist focussing on Miocene geology and palaeontology of today’s Poland and Western Ukraine. The Dzieduszycki Family Natural History Museum in Lviv (now the State Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) houses two large collections from Friedberg’s monographs: the entire collection of Cretaceous foraminifera and a part of the collection of Miocene molluscs, including gastropods from the famous Korytnica Clays. A list of the mollusc nomenclatural types is provided.
