Research on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Balanophyllia_elegans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Balanophyllia elegans<\/em><\/a>, conducted using <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nanoscale_secondary_ion_mass_spectrometry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NanoSIMS<\/a> imaging, revealed that nutrition not only supplies energy but also supports formation of organic matrix essential for skeletal growth.
